Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

1General Principles

Any action that violates Thai or international law is strictly prohibited. Users must use services ethically and not cause harm to others or the network.

2Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on ThaiDNS services:

  • DDoS / DoS attacks of any kind
  • Sending spam or bulk email without consent
  • Operating Public Proxy / VPN / TOR Exit Node
  • Any form of cryptocurrency mining
  • Unauthorized port scanning, brute force, or penetration testing
  • Hosting malware, phishing pages, carding sites, or botnet C&C
  • Illegal pornographic content, especially child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
  • Copyright infringement (software, movies, music, books)
  • Fraud, scams, or other illegal activities

3Resource Usage (Fair Use)

Shared Hosting and Reseller Hosting customers must use resources fairly, without impacting other users on the same server.

  • CPU usage should not exceed 25% continuously for over 90 seconds
  • No more than 25 concurrent processes
  • Maximum 30 MySQL connections per account
  • Maximum 250,000 inodes per account
⚠️ If your usage heavily consumes resources, ThaiDNS will issue a warning. Continued violation may result in throttling or temporary suspension.

Note: Dedicated Servers and VPS (Virtual Dedicated) are exempt from CPU limits because resources are dedicated to the user.

4Email & Anti-Spam

  • Spam, phishing, and scam emails of any kind are prohibited
  • Bulk email requires opt-in lists and working unsubscribe links
  • Outgoing email limited to 500/hour for Shared Hosting
  • If the IP is blacklisted (RBL) due to user action, email sending will be suspended immediately

5Security & Network

  • All forms of DDoS attack (UDP Flood, SYN Flood, HTTP Flood)
  • Unauthorized port scanning or vulnerability scanning
  • Brute force login attacks against third-party systems
  • Network sniffing or intercepting others' data
  • IP spoofing or MAC address spoofing

6Prohibited Content

  • Content violating Thai law (Computer Crime Act, Copyright Act)
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — immediate suspension and law enforcement notification
  • Terrorism, incitement, or hate speech
  • Pirated, cracked, or fake software
  • Sale of illegal drugs or weapons
  • Online gambling not licensed under Thai law

7Cryptocurrency Mining

Using any ThaiDNS service for cryptocurrency mining is prohibited — including CPU/GPU mining, mining pools, and resource-heavy wallet services.

8Public Proxy / VPN

Public Proxy, Open VPN, TOR Exit Node, or similar public services are prohibited — they're prone to abuse and harm network reputation.

Private VPN for your own organization is permitted, as long as it's not publicly accessible.

9Enforcement

ThaiDNS enforces based on severity:

  • Intentional violation : Immediate permanent ban with no refund
  • First-time unintentional violation : Temporary suspension. ThaiDNS contacts the user, allowing 24 hours to remediate before reinstatement
  • Repeat violation : Permanent ban
  • Severe cases (CSAM / Malware / Phishing) : Immediate suspension + report to law enforcement
